t takes you a moment to realise that, hey, there’s hardly anyone out on the South Beach today…

This, despite the fact that it’s a balmy Thursday afternoon in late July, with ne’er a cloud in the sky or a care in the world.

For the handful of smart Greystonians making the most of such a day, and such a place, it pretty much meant having this entire stretch of heaven all to themselves.

Sandwiched inbetween two relaxed-verging-on-napping fishermen on the rocks and three young girls splashing in the breaking waves over on the beach, a group of boys were trying out their diving skills off the recently-resurrected Men’s diving board.

Some had their jumps down pat. For others, it took a little time to work up the courage, and the routine. And then it took a little more time. And then, hey, you go first. I’ll be ready in a minute…
