Tommaso Makes It A Double

And so it begins…

ff on his holiers back to Italy next week, and now the proud owner of this year’s Greystones’ Best Coffee 2016 award, I think Greystones has finally cracked the gruff exterior of Tommaso Spennato.

Certainly there was a pep in the old boy’s step when we swung in this afternoon to present Tommaso with his framed award.

“I’m glad to see that you didn’t accept any bribes this time,” quipped the little Italian terror, still hurting from having lost the recent Breakfast Of Champions 2016 vote. “And now I have a second Best Coffee award to bookend my counter.

“I feel so good right now, I might even give you a free coffee. Unless you actually want one, of course, because I know you’re always in a hurry somewhere…”

It was somewhat emotional to see Tomasso’s little face light up today as we handed him his framed cert. Almost spiritual.

So, a big cheer to all you lovely people who voted for Caffé Delle Stelle. You made a very grumpy, very old man very, very happy. For about three minutes.
