reystones may have become Wicklow’s no.1 foodie town in recent years, but some takeaways have been keeping us fed and watered long before the goldrush.

One of them is Jade Royal, sitting pretty on the main street ever since they first opened their doors way back in 2011.

Known for their signature spicy bag – and you’d better be sitting down when that beauty kicks in – this veteran Chinese takeaway clearly knows what it’s doing. As Sir Elvis of Presley – the Patron Saint of Deep Fried Wonders – says, 30,000 Greystonians can’t be wrong.

“We have plenty of dishes to try,” says manager Jason Ren, “ranging from Chicken Cantonese to Duck Ginger Spring Onion.

“And there’s always our all-time customer favourite, The Spicy Bag!”

Boasting a team of senior Chinese chefs with more than 10 years experience under their bulging belts, the ingredients, they say, are all fresh and from local suppliers. “We are committed to creating the healthiest and the most innovative cuisine in town,” say the kitchen posse. And that much-loved spicy bag, of course.
