When he moved to Dublin from Nigeria in 2003, Fabio David took the long road to vlogger fame and near-fortune, quitting his job at Boots pharmacy to pursue comedy meaning the budding stand-up slept rough whilst taking free gigs to help build up his career.

Fabu-D goes Full Greystones
traight outta Dublin, comedian Fabu-D hit Greystones this week for his latest shot at viral virility.
Having given Bray the once-over back in 2018, the Irish social media star has over 1 million followers across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and beyond.
And that’s because Fabu-D is the sort of comedian who will take on the milk crate challenge. Or get into random people’s cars. Just for the craic. And the likes.
According to his website, the rebellious Fabu-D also brings his anarchic wit and withering eye to weddings, hens, stags and birthday parties along with brand collaborations and video shout-outs, and is also available for special appearances, or as an MC. All for a fee, of course.
Because Fabu-D’s a wild and crazy kind of guy. Who needs to keep feeding that social media black hole. And make a living.

By 2017, he was appearing on TV3’s short-lived Blind Date reboot.
His cunning plan seems to have worked. Which is why the man was in Greystones earlier this week, to give the town a good seeing to.
Turns out we have a different way of walking and talking in Greystones. The walk is largely inspired by 1970s camp comedians, it seems, and the talk is pure 1980s Yuppie Lite.
Oh, and the average Greystones conversation consists of, “Hey, Matthew! Howya doin’? Oh, my God! My daughter’s a lawyer.“
Painfully true because it’s funny. All our daughters are lawyers. Jim Davidson would be proud. Once he got over any initial reservations about a black Irish comedian who sometimes goes by the name Blackpaddy.
