Is it true that 71% of the villagers said no to this planning development? And presumably the other 29% agreeing or abstaining. If this is the case why has the planning authority accepted it – especially when there is so much development happening in Greystones which has the infrastructure to handle larger developments. I understand farmers wanting to create more value from their land but such a large development (including phase 2 which looks likely to go ahead) for such a small village seems incongruous.
