The location earmarked – and subsequently fenced off – are the big fields sandwiched between the Woodlands estates and the abandoned Charlesland Golf Club on one side, and Shoreline on up almost to the Charlesland estates on the other.
So, given that the first phase was supposed to be finished mid-2024, we’ve been trying to get to the bottom of the hiatus for quite some weeks now, and each avenue of enquiry has led to a dead end, with some who

The one reaction people didn’t greet the news with though was surprise.
This near-50 acre site of unused IDA land would house the Greystones Media Campus, boasting 14 studios, offices and ancillary buildings that would, it was predicted, provide 300 full-time jobs and up to 1,200 jobs for those freelancers in the film, media and broadcasting sectors.

Just an update. After contacting Hackman’s Dublin PR firm Kano Communications, the lovely Siobhan replied…
Good evening Paul
Just picking up your email there. To confirm our statement:
The global film and TV production sector experienced unprecedented disruption with the writers and actors strikes which resulted in the creative industries coming to a standstill. It resulted in a 12-month delay affecting medium and long-term planning for productions across the world. Since the recent cessation of the strike, the industry is in catch up mode as it seeks to move to normality, and we are monitoring the situation globally. The recent uplift in Section 481 incentives is very welcome news, and a positive indicator for the industry in Ireland as well as our future plans. We are delighted to renew our focus on the exciting Greystones Media Campus project as we return to routine production levels in the content industry.

Thank you GG. This is a very worrying impasse and obvious avoidance and obfuscation. Perhaps worth asking the IRISH STRATEGIC INVESTMENT FUND – the Irish Government Agency who were announced as the funding agency for the development when it was announced. Perhaps the IDA might know because the site is owned by them (Irish Taxpayers). Who owns the site now? What’ does Wicklow County Council say as they have set up courses in the Rathnew Campus for the new campus in Greystones.
Good point. Have tried WCC, and the Rathnew Campus, but they, like all the others, claim to have no definite word. Will see if the ISIF or the IDA can shed some light…
