Protesters at Harris home THURS2MAY24
nti-immigration protestors targeted Simon Harris’ Greystones home last night, 
days after the Taoiseach labelled such actions as “downright thuggery”.
Images of the protest were also shared on social media, but the faces of those present were blurred.

Recent protests have been held outside the home of Equality Minister Roderic O’Gorman whilst People Before Profit’s TD Paul Murphy had a death threat spray-painted on a wall near his home and Justice Minister Helen McEntee had to evacuate her home after a series of 
threatening calls, the latest being last Saturday.
Just last weekend, the Taoiseach had condemned protestors for targeting TDs’ private homes, stating that “too often” politicians were being targeted by “angry mobs” and have been left fearing for their families.

“I always think people’s families and people’s homes should be out of bounds”
Most people would probably agree, but currently a peaceful protest outside somebody’s home is not illegal. The Taoiseach is surely the one person in the country who could push through new legislation. If that approach turned out to be unconstitutional, then hold a referendum. All this handwringing like some auld fella sitting on a bar stool seems a bit odd, when you are the one guy with the power to change things.
