Howdya Like Them Coffee Beans, Starbucks…?!

t may have all the appearances of your humble, everyday café, grocers and farmer’s market all rolled into one, but Nicky’s Village Market over in Kilcoole have plainly been dreaming global of late.

And, as the billboard out on the main street proves, they’ve finally turned that dream into a reality.

For – and brace yourselves, my fat friends – Nicky’s Village Market is now home to The Best Coffee In The World.

Or, Best Coffee In World, to quote the billboard directly.

Which will be something of a slap in the face for Business Insider UK, who made the claim recently that the best coffee in the world is currently being produced in Ethiopia. Nicky’s incredible achievement will also be a kick up the arse and a wedgie for Espresso Coffee Guide, who listed Tanzania Peaberry Coffee at no.1 in their Best Coffee Beans In The World 2017 Top 10. A Top 10 that, bizarrely, didn’t even mention Nicky’s Village Market.

They must be feeling pretty foolish right about now.

And what of the most expensive coffees in the world? At $160 per pound,  Luwak Coffee – which has to pass through the digestive system of the, eh, mongoose before being ready for a brew – should be able to lay claim to Best Coffee In World, but, alas, all that bold bowel baloney is in vain.

We’re not entirely sure if Nicky’s Village Market’s coffee has to makes it way through any particular animal before it lands in your cup – although we didn’t notice the cat had a limp – so, we decided we’d best ask the beautiful ladies behind the counter, Audrey and Val, just what it is that makes their jolt of java the very finest on the planet…
