ith its name taken from the village’s celebrated tourist attraction, Clondalkin’s new Round Tower Centre is set to become the Happy Pear’s first Dublin outlet.

The new flagship centre will include a visitor’s centre along with the new Happy Pear cafe, public garden and gallery spaces.

The Happy Pear and South Dublin County Council are delighted to announce that the NEW Round Tower Centre in the historic Clondalkin Village will be run by The Happy Pear. The Happy Pear has now officially been appointed as the operator to run the Clondalkin Round Tower Visitor Centre, also making it the first ever Dublin location for The Happy Pear.

The new flagship development, which includes the visitor centre and will incorporate a NEW Happy Pear cafe and food shop, will open its doors this summer. It will also feature a terraced dining area, public garden, exhibition and gallery spaces, making the entire development a great addition to the village for all generations. The Happy Pear hope to offer a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu at the new cafe with seating for around 60 customers.

In recent weeks, The Happy Pear announced plans to open two new locations in the Dublin area in 2017. It also revealed that its bestselling first cookbook has sold 100,000 copies and that David and Stephen’s third cookbook will be published in spring 2018. Their second and current bestselling cookbook, The World of the Happy Pear, was named Cookbook of the Year at the Irish Book Awards in November.

Naturally, if this venture in any way impacts negatively on the steady flow of town outsiders flocking to the original Happy Pear here in Greystones, the local municipal district office will do everything in its power to shut the Clondalkin operation down.
