Today marks #YourCouncilDay, a chance to show appreciation for the work that council staff do everyday to upkeep our town and villages.

We can be quick to give out but it’s important to step back sometimes and say thank you.

Office staff and outdoor staff live and work in our community; doing great work with few resources.

As a council, we are calling for more staff, but until that happens I want to thank all the Greystones MD council staff for their continued hard work and dedication to the community.

They worked on the frontline through COVID19 and continue to work every day on our behalf: emptying bins, cutting grass, beach cleaning, footpath & road works, lifeguard work and the list goes on.

And lest we forget, when feasible pre-COVID, it was local council staff that made the St Patrick’s Day Parade happen every year, something my children have lovely memories of.
