All Hands On Declan

It was the feelgood factor for a lot of people last Christmas, and this year, Declan and the Bochelli’s gang are about to dish up a free festive feast once again.

Only this time, the gang put out the call to their fellow Greystonians might be able to help pull together this magical meal.

Providing that all-important Christmas dinner for those with no particular place to go to, last year saw busloads – from Bray to Wicklow Town – descend upon Bochelli’s for a bellyful of turkey, gravy, roast potatoes, sprouts and goodwill.

It was a gesture that saw Declan McLoughlin become our Greystones Person of the Year 2016. Naturally enough.

Within a few days, people came forward to help make this year’s party happen, donating everything from hats, scarves, gloves and warm clothing to shoes, books, socks and underwear, plus toiletries of any sort, from toothbrushes to shower gels, and beyond. Suffice to say, those Christmas Day goodie bags are going to look damn good.

Now, all that’s really needed is a little financial help – with any monies collected going to WH Five Loaves  in Bray and Tiglin in Ashford. You can donate on the Bochelli’s fundraising page right here.

Everyone at Bochelli’s has expressed their gratitude, once again, for all the volunteers who helped last year, stating that, for everyone present, ‘their hearts were touched, and richer for it‘.
