A Long Day’s Journey Into Greystones

or a bunch of strangers all about to spend the night in their cars up on a hill in Greystones, Jaysus, this is one bunch of happy campers.

The occasion is, after three false starts, the release of a 22 Waverly houses up in Blacklion on Wednesday morning at 10am.

The fact that there’s already over 40 hopefuls on the list when we swung by at 9pm tonight means that some here will walk away disappointed – including, possibly, Simon and his heavily pregnant missus, the two of them just returning to this makeshift car park after a false labour alarm.

We had heard about a possible queue three weeks ago, and another about one week ago, but both turned out to be premature declarations.

Tonight though, the heat is definitely on, and the atmosphere in the queue is understandably charged. So damn charged, in fact, GG forgot to get anyone’s actual names.
