he Greystones Tidy Towns gang were in Croke Park this afternoon for another nail-biting wait to see how they’d fared at this year’s big showdown.
This particular showdown being the annual SuperValu Tidy Towns Awards.
And wouldn’t you know, as with last year, Joyce, David and the rest of the gang walked away with gold, whilst also winning the County Commended Award.
Which, as far as we can tell, is the most important award of the night. By far.
And just for good work, they also managed to bag runner-up when it came to the Sustainable Development Goals Award.
Sweet as.
Congrats to all the volunteers involved, including those who jump on board for those special morning flower power clean-ups and weed exorcisms.
And to every single person around here who knows where the bins are around here, and how to use them. Even when the nearest bin is at home.
And big congrats to our neighbours, Bray, who took home the silver, a big achievement for their Tidy Towns gang.
