Swimming Ban At Wicklow Harbour

icklow County Council have issued a warning for swimmers in Wicklow Town, effective till Tuesday, September 24th.

The public are advised to avoid Wicklow Harbour following a discharge of untreated sewage.

It is believed that the sewage effluent was discharged into the surrounding waters as a result of electrical power being switched off after a fire at UE Murrough Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Electrical power will be restored as soon as possible and the bathing water will be sampled once this has been done.
