iven the kind of blinky washing machine summer we’ve been having, it was telling that two of our most popular drinking holes were each gunning for cover this morning.

As Sonny’s had their new industrial-strength awning fitted, across the road, Mrs Robinson was going one better with a fancy pants glass and wooden structure.

Courtesy of, we’re guessing, a certain world-famous, mouth-watering black stout with a dirty, great big advertising budget.

It certainly makes a whole lot of sense, and will no doubt come as something of a relief for the Baby Robinson gang given that their 2017 attempt to build a wooden deck out front had Wicklow Planning demanding within 24 hours that the whole thing be swiftly dismantled.

Gotta say, the new bigger, better, stronger, more rain-resistant Mrs Robinson looks pretty darn good.
