he weather couldn’t have been sweeter for this year’s Picnic In The Park down in the Burnaby.
And that meant there were plenty of shiny, happy Greystonians out agus about on this fine Saturday.
Now, if it had been raining, or if there’d been even a hint of a light drizzle…
Whether you were there to chomp down some goodies at your picnic or just to hang out for a sunny afternoon in Burnaby Park, there were plenty of reasons to be cheerful.
Not only were there old school games for the kids along with Mickey Mouse and his buddies roaming through the crowd but the main stage had an abundance of local artists, authors, magicians and musicians to make sure we were never bored.
From Kim Hayden’s young guns Kate Kavanagh and Abiha Mansoor and fellow singers Tadgh Conway, Robbie Doye and young soul rebels T.O.K. to magicians Joe Daly and Julie & Dee, from children’s authors Alan Nolan and Peter Donnelly to the Canadh le Cheile choir, there was something for everyone.
And all under the watchful, loving eye of MC supreme, Laura Wood.
That it was all in honour of Greystones Cancer Support’s 30th anniversary made the day all the more special.
And, as is so very often the case, John McGowan was in the thick of it all…
