Out Of The Purple

reystones’ Garda joined forces with the Greystones Family Resource Centre gang for a special event down at The Cove this morning.

A nationwide gesture, Go Purple Day was all about raising awareness around domestic abuse in Ireland.

“We asked everyone we met down at The Cove today to don a purple flower,” says Garda Maria Curtis, “as a symbolic gesture.

“We also had Lynne from the Greystones Family Resource Centre there too, for anyone who needed advice or support.”

Part of the Garda initiative is to inform people of the supports available around the country too.
