This land should be protected by appropriate zoning. It’s a wonderful opportunity to extend the native forest from Glen of The Downs and, perhaps, even create. “garden park” on the lower fields. I’m sure both Greystones and Delgany scouts would love a camp site. Plenty of opportunity to add amenities.
GoD has been forever ruined by the roar of traffic. Maybe the wildlife doesn’t care, but it doesn’t make for relaxing amenity space.
It’d be nice to have some proper broadleaf woodland restored on the upper parts, that are walkable from Delgany and GoD.
Trouble is with creating anything nice, the council engineers would start widening all the roads so people can drive to it.
Is it too early for a ‘guess the number of houses’ competition?
If mot, I’ll guess 3,000.
