Kimberley Road Gets Some Green

tudents from St Brigid’s and St David’s will be joining the Greystones Tidy Towns gang for some serious tree planting next week.

The spot is Kimberley Road, and the trees are being supplied by the good people at foodtree.ie.

With Wicklow County Council also on board, as a touching tribute to the residents of the road, the trees will be a mixture of fruit and nut trees.

Which should please the mighty Frank Muir no end.

The trees will, of course, reduce pollution and flood risk along Kimberley Road and make for a much greener, sweeter, let’s-stop-for-a-picnic environment.

The benefits also include traffic calming, natured-based drainage (the tree pits have been designed to take the rain water runoff from the road, which in turn will feed the trees) and improve biodiversity.
