atest press release from the bould Ann Catherine Nolan and Wicklow County Council, issued on Wednesday, October 16th 2024…
Kilcoole Men’s Shed, Kilcoole Tidy Towns and Kilcoole Biodiversity Group are delighted to announce a joint Community Climate Action Project for the village.
Funded by Wicklow Council’s Climate Action Fund, we will plant a dispersed orchard around the village.
We hope to start the project in early November and have already started contacting estates, schools and residents’ groups for interest.
The response has been extremely positive so we intent to plant 150 heritage apple trees and other fruit trees subject to demand.
This will form a corridor of apple and fruit trees throughout the village to support pollinators, sustainability and climate action goals.
Watch this space for more details in a few weeks!
We’re not sure where that space actually is, but you can email Ann right about here to find out more.
