Today, An Taoiseach Simon Harris confirmed that an agreement had been reached with Dublin Bus and the National Transport Authority to provide additional bus services along Route 65 along with a new bus service between Blessington and Tallaght.

Speaking today, the Taoiseach said, “I am delighted to confirm that four additional daily bus services are being made available along Dublin Bus’ Route 65 from Blessington-Ballymore to Poolbeg Street.”

“For some time now, it has been clear that there was a significant need for investment in West Wicklow’s public transport services, and with today’s announcement I am delighted to say that we are now beginning to see the changes long fought for come into effect.”

“I have been aware of Blessington’s rapidly growing population and numerous new developments, and knew that to sustain this increase we needed to see further supports and services put in place.”

“As Taoiseach, obtaining these services for Blessington has been a high priority, and I am glad that after working closely with Dublin Bus and the NTA, within days we will have a public transport route for Blessington that is fit to serve the local community for the future.”

“I am also delighted to announce the new 65A service between Blessington and Tallaght, which is a great new initiative for further supporting the local community.”

“Over the coming weeks and months, I will continue to work towards improving County Wicklow’s public transport services, and all other public services, to ensure that our community has the resources and supports it needs well into the future,” the Taoiseach concluded.
