Beyond The Trees’ Halloween Hoots

ot content with being an award-winning Wicklow attraction, the Beyond The Trees gang up at Avondale have been busy adding all sorts of other goodies to their menu.

Live music was launched recently with country star Lisa McHugh, kids’ faves Bluey and The Gruffalo paid a visit, and Laura Turner’s adaptation of Pride And Prejudice brought Jane Austen out into the wilds.

To name but four big days out.

Next up, there’s a Qigong session on Sunday, October 27th from 8am to 11am, followed by a mindful trek along the Treetop Walk, then breakfast in the Seed Café. Led by Mary Dowling, you can grab your €40 ticket here.

Marking Halloween with a spectacular plethora of spooky goodies, Beyond The Trees have a fun-packed week running from Saturday, October 26th to Sunday, November 3rd, 10am to 4pm daily, boasting one-hour Halloween Fun Packages with a Spooky Train journey, a Spooky Trail through the forest, Workshop and Storytelling at the Meeting House (€17 per child, €10 per adult, children under 1 go free; booking here). There’s also Over On The Treetop Tower, with a Pumpkin Hunt and a Treetop Walk Quiz, along with such spooky seasonal food offerings as Beastly Pizza Special (flaming devilled pizza, spooky mozzarella & spicy sausage), Scream of Vegetable Soup, Spiced Pumpkin Soup, Guinness, Treacle & Pumpkin Seed Bread, Hell’s Kitchen Tandoori Chicken Curry, Sliver-Side of Beef, Monster Mash Colcannon and Barmbrack – Find The Fáinne.

Finally, there’s a Halloween Pumpkin Flower Arrangement Workshop on Saturday, October 26th, from 2pm to 3pm, with florist Kamila from Nature To Go guiding you through the art of creating the perfect autumnal pumpkin arrangement. Tickets are €50, details and booking here.
