WCC Abandon Farrankelly Close Move

ith residents protesting again this morning, Wicklow County Council have reportedly abandoned plans to move a controversial new resident into Farrankelly Close.

The fact that windows at the selected house were mysteriously smashed overnight, and a private security firm had a van parked outside all weekend, reflects the strong feelings over the proposed move.

The council have struggled to house this particular roaming resident over the past few years, after their Bray home was firebombed, and various estates refused to allow them entry too. Today’s decision, we’re told, was based on fears for the person’s safety should they be moved into the Greystones estate.

So, it’s back to the drawing board for Wicklow County Council, and it’s back to sound sleeps for the residents of Farrankelly Close.
