Well, no more, my fat friends, as three hardy council workers set about putting a little shape to The Dromont Ditch.

At least, that’s what we’ve come to call it, this handy little right of way leading you from Kindlestown Castle and some very fancy houses to some very, very houses and the likes of Kindlestown Wood and the Octagon.

Part of the recently-launched Greystones Way – which leads you from the town all the way up to The Great Sugar Loaf – you’ll also find The Dromont Way in our Take A Hike guide here.

In the meantime, with concerns expressed about the senseless killing of defenceless ferns hitting social media this morning, we thought we should check with the workers themselves on exactly what kind of devastation and destruction they have in store for us.

With the foreman and the lad with the shovel quickly scarpering, it was left to the mighty Les Carstairs to fill us in on all the filling in…
