Of these, 1,110 are in Bray, 328 in Greystones and 224 in Delgany.
And highest on their list of preferences for that new address is Ashford, with 394 people putting the cute-as-a-button village first, whilst 256 have requested Wicklow Town.
Further down the coast, Arklow’s plans for new builds has been delayed by a lack of a wastewater treatment plan, with 931 people on the waiting list there. In Avoca, it’s 39, Aughrim 43 and Rathdrum 63.
When it comes to area of choice, low on the list are Ballycoogue, Bray, Brittas Bay, Kirakee and Laken, all with just 1 request each, followed by Rathdangan (2), Stratford On Slaney (3), Conary (4), Redcross, Kiltegan and Knockananna (5), plus Coolboy (6) and then, Thomastown and Ballinaclash (7).
